An Introduction to the Cellerciser® Rebounder

The Cellerciser® basically comes in two models—the bi-fold model and the tri-fold model. As the names imply, both Cellerciser® models are able to be folded up for storage and travel. The bi-fold model is able to be folded in half while the tri-fold model is able to be folded into a third. The legs of the Cellerciser® are also foldable. The bi-fold model come with a vinyl carrying case while the tri-fold model comes with a plastic and vinyl carrying case with wheels and a handle (sort of like a piece of luggage). All Cellercisers® are black in color. This includes the frame, the mat, and the legs.

The Two Models of Cellercisers®
The Bi-Fold Cellersicer® with vinyl carrying bag and the Tri-Fold Cellerciser® with plastic and vinyl carrying case and balance bar.

All Cellerciser® models are constructed with a robotically welded steel frame, steel legs, steel hinges, a Permatron® mat, and the highest quality metal springs available. In fact, the Cellerciser® uses a patent pending spring to ensure years of use and perfect support for your feet (more on this later).

All Cellerciser® models are the same sizes and dimensions. Every Cellerciser® is 40 inches in diameter (edge of frame to edge of frame) when unfolded and ready for use. The diameter of the mat (the jumping area) is 28 inches in diameter. That means there’s six inches of space between the edge of the mat and the frame. This is where the spring system resides. The springs are all covered with a high quality, removable (for cleaning) vinyl cover that protects your feet should you step on the spring area. The Cellerciser® is 10 inches in height and is supported by six steel legs. The six steel legs are not fully detachable from the frame but rather they are held in place over mounting posts by high tensile strength piano wire. This means that whenever you want to fold up your Cellerciser®, you can pull the legs off their mounting posts and bend them inward before you fold up the frame. Finally, at the bottom of each leg is a polymer material foot. These feet protect the steel legs from making contact with carpet or hardwood floors, if you’re using your Cellerciser® inside. Unlike rubber feet that you’ll see on the bottoms of legs of furniture, these polymer feet do not dry out, crack, or break. They will last for years even if you keep your Cellerciser® outside.

The most impressive component of the Cellerciser® is its spring system. The Cellerciser® uses a patent pending spring called the TriDaptable® spring. There are 36 of these TriDaptable® springs that are attached via steel pins that are inserted through the frame. These springs are triple tiered and tapered.  This unique design adjusts to the weight of the person using it and to the height that the person is jumping. The springs stretch from the middle and the weight is gradually absorbed as needed through the tiered-tapered ends, allowing you to accelerate and decelerate smoothly through the jump. This type of spring is the only type of self-adjusting spring of its kind available. And don’t worry about breaking these springs or wearing them out. These springs are designed to withstand a lifetime of use. In fact, the Cellerciser® company had to have a tungsten steel mold created to be able to manufacture a spring that possess this type of strength and durability. Whether you’re 30 pounds or 300 pounds and whether you’re bouncing gently or engaged in a vigorous workout, you can rest assured that the TriDaptable® spring is more than capable of withstanding a lifetime of exercise and that it will properly adjust to your every bounce.

The Three Types of Springs on a Rebounder
A typical cylindrical spring (left spring—on cheaper rebounders but not recommended), a typical barrel spring (center spring—better, but not the best), and a TriDaptable® spring (right spring—the best by far and what the Cellerciser® uses).
Spring Attachment to Frame
Notice how the TriDaptable® springs attach to the frame through a steel pin rather than directly to the frame. This type of attachment prevents wear and the bending of the frame.

Finally, an all-steel balance bar is available for all Cellerciser® models. It can be easily attached and detached. All tri-fold models come with a balance bar while bi-fold models can come with or without one. If you order a bi-fold model without a balance bar you can simply order one later, if you choose. Use of a balance bar is entirely optional. However, if someone is elderly or is dealing with some physical limitations, I would recommend the use of one at least until they become accustomed to rebounding workouts.
